Spring Loaded Rod Seal

Series 119: Spring Loaded Rod Seal

The 119 Series Spring energized rod seal is one of System Seals’ most popular designs used in standard to moderate-duty applications. The spring energized design ensures the seal lip forces are optimized for every cross section and diameter over a long period of time. Manufactured in a variety of materials and sizes to fit most applications requiring low friction, high temperature, and improved fluid compatibility.

Installation

Benefits

Wide temperature range

Highly extrusion resistant with the use of a backup ring

Excellent fluid compatibility including water-based fluids and aggressive fluids

Exceptional low friction performance

Available in all standard sizes

Optional spring alloys available for improved performance and compatibility

Applications

The 119 series rod seal is ideal for most applications requiring low friction, high temperature, and improved fluid compatibility.

Typical applications include:

  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Cylinders
  • Pressure Accumulators
  • Valve Stems
  • Nozzles
  • High Temperature
  • Aggressive Fluids

The 119 series rod seal features low friction PTFE energized with an internal spring. Standard materials are MT200 PTFE filled with Carbon/Graphite, available in standard sizes using a stainless steel spring. Also available with Elgiloy spring as an option for high heat or added chemical resistance. To suit a variety of applications, the series is also available in various filled PTFEs as well as Polyurethane and UHMW.
